Introduction
Many companies of all sizes are now drug free. Drug-free Workplace (DFWP) programs reduce accidents, injuries and workers' compensation claims; lower healthcare costs; and improve productivity. They can also have a profound impact on the lives of employees and their families.
Some companies are drug free to meet federal requirements. Others take advantage of financial incentives available through voluntary state programs. Still others decide that being drug free is simply good business. Whatever the impetus, employee education and supervisor training are integral parts of these programs.
ComplySite has partnered with Drug-Free Business Solutions, a specialist in technology-based drug and alcohol training for the workplace, to offer an innovative curriculum of online courses to help companies cost-effectively meet their DFWP training needs.
Curriculum-Based Approach
The courses cover tightly defined topics on drugs, alcohol and DFWP programs. This curriculum-based approach benefits organizations and employees.
Enables effective learning
The curriculum introduces concepts, terms and data logically and sequentially, in a way that reinforces prior learning.
Fosters efficient learning
Employees absorb and process information without feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, maximizing their learning time.
Allows continuing education
Employees take a new generation of courses each year that builds on courses they have completed, without unnecessary repetition.
Ensures a consistent message
Employees receive consistent messages and facts about the risks and harms of drug and alcohol abuse.
Effective Course Design
The courses are engaging and easy to use for all employees. The material is highly interactive, so employees stay interested. Course content is science-based and credible, which is critical given the controversy and misperceptions that surround substance abuse. The courses have a clean look and intuitive navigation to maximize comfort and usability.
The courses are short to maximize training productivity. They are linear, without paths or branching, to ensure that workers cover the course material in a targeted period of time. Course media - including graphics, animations and focused audio - support both low bandwidth access and effective learning. The courses also incorporate well-established adult learning principles, such as clear objectives, practice and meaningful feedback.
Education Courses: For Employees and Supervisors
Effective employee education imparts knowledge. In combination with the other parts of a DFWP program, it can also change attitudes and behaviors. Employee education courses collectively cover the full spectrum of drug- and alcohol-related information. They can be used by both employees and supervisors. The following courses are available.
