People now expect a more personalized, discoverable learning environment that mimics the experiences they have on their own time and with other brands. This means you are now responsible for managing the convergence of modern and traditional, informal and formal, discoverable and directed learning content in a way that engages and supports your audience. This is no simple task.
We’ve developed a unique approach to learning delivery called Open Asset that is designed to help you overcome this challenge. Now you can mix and match a wide variety of file types including documents, spreadsheets, presentations and PDF files, traditional e-learning assets like SCORM or AICC-compliant courseware, and informal resources like links to videos, blog posts or articles - without the problematic xAPI or cumbersome Learning Record Stores. This is how you will meet your learners’ expectations.
Check This Out: You can present, track, report on and measure the results of all of this content without having to rely on the cumbersome xAPI or problematic Learning Record Stores.
That’s a lot of words. We know. But they are really important words.
Let’s start with the last four - “native mobile learning application.” It’s not uncommon for a learning technology provider to offer a “Web app,” which means the user accesses the mobile version of the LMS from a browser on their phone or tablet. Most forward-thinking providers optimize that experience based on the individual user’s choice of device and browser. Like many others, Intellum has been offering a mobile-optimized Web version of Exceed for years.
A very small handful of providers offer a native mobile app, a smartphone/tablet application that is built from the ground up for iOS or Android devices. Native mobile apps perform much faster, are more reliable and often improve the user experience. The problem is that other native mobile learning applications do not include all of the functionality of the desktop version of the provider’s LMS. This often means the learner can not access all file types or learning experiences in the mobile app. This typically includes critical informal assets, assessments, surveys and evaluations. The result is that learners abandon these mobile apps quickly while you miss out on an incredibly effective engagement tactic.
We believe that a native mobile learning app should allow the user to access your learning environment, in it’s entirety, from any mobile device. If they don’t want to engage with your content through the desktop, they shouldn’t be forced to. So we decided to build a fully-functional native mobile learning application to further support our clients’ learning engagement strategies. We agree that “Fully-Functional Native Mobile Learning Application” is a mouthful, but we also think it’s a game changer.
Exceed combines positive gamification elements like badging with the proven impact of certifications and allows you to designate any Activity or Path as a Microdegree. Learners can collect Microdegrees on their profiles and share them on social media platforms like LinkedIn.
Quickly develop and deploy assessments, surveys and evaluations from within the learning environment. Choose between auto-graded question types, like multiple-choice and True/False, or free-form response options, like long form answers and video responses, which can then be graded by instructors or peers.
When accessed from the browser Exceed automatically recognizes the learner’s device and browser settings and delivers an optimized experience for smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices. When accessing the learning environment through the native iOS or Android apps (free in the app stores), the learner receives an even more streamlined and engaging mobile learning experience, which includes mobile notification reminders so she never misses another due date or learning opportunity.
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) as our primary hosting resource, and our backup, monitoring, and recovery procedures are solid. We are PCI compliant and audited regularly by Security Metrics. Exceed provides reliable access and a secure environment for all of our clients' documents, data and proprietary information.
Exceed is the first LMS to offer language localization on an employee-by-employee basis including English, British English, French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), Portuguese, Spanish, German, Japanese, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Turkish and Russian, with the flexibility to easily add additional languages as needed.
Reporting has long been the Achilles’ Heel of the learning industry. Many providers mask their reporting weaknesses during the sales process and then charge exorbitant support fees to “help” you get to your own data. Our approach is different. With more than 80 off-the-shelf reports and a custom report writer built in, you can easily drill down to employee or question-level detail. Reports can be saved, set to run automatically, exported in a wide variety of formats and shared with specific people on demand.
Ok, some of our largest ever implementations have taken over 60 days. But that’s rare, because our solution is designed to implement quickly. New clients are assigned an Onboarding Leader who is part project manager, part account manager, and all Implementation Ninja. The Onboarding Leader works closely with you to develop a unique project plan that is based on 17 years of successful implementations. This plan covers everything from users, configuration, integrations, authentication and content to what reporting you will need on launch day. Once the plan is delivered, your personal Implementation Ninja will make sure you meet every deadline along the way.
