Operational lift reduced by 97%
One platform, three audiences, zero friction.
nCino, the leading provider of intelligent, best-in-class banking solutions, needed to educate three distinct audiences—employees, customers, and partners—on complex financial technology and services. Each group required personalized enablement across complex technical and functional topics, and their existing learning management system (LMS) created operational drag: certification was fragmented, reporting was manual, and training relied on siloed systems like PayPal, Zoom, and spreadsheets.
To solve this, nCino partnered with Intellum to reimagine and redesign its education program. They built from the inside out, executing a deliberate, phased rollout strategy that prioritized internal adoption before scaling to external audiences.
Phase 1: Employees First
The first phase launched internally to a small, controlled group of employees. Branded as "LevelUP," the internal instance was designed to deliver personalized onboarding through structured 30/60/90-day onboarding journeys, tailored to each user’s department, location and role. This data was dynamically pulled from Workday using Intellum’s out-of-the-box SFTP connector.
Even more, with Intellum’s Salesforce integration, nCino pushed employee certification completions back into Workday profiles, creating a closed-loop system where employee development became visible, measurable, and strategically aligned across the business.
This beta approach allowed the team to gather feedback, refine certification navigation, and train admins in a low-risk environment—turning employees into both power users and internal champions.
Phase 2: Customers and Partners
With the platform refined and validated internally, nCino expanded training to external audiences via nCino University Online. Built on the same core content, the experience was dynamically customized by role and user type, ensuring relevance without duplicating effort. Single sign-on provided seamless access, and Intellum’s e-commerce tools allowed for paid certifications and instructor-led training to be purchased and delivered directly in-platform.
This transition eliminated the operational chaos of managing registration, payment, and delivery across multiple systems. Instead, external learners encountered a polished, unified experience while the training team gained efficiency, consistency, and scale.
Phase 3: Ecosystem Expansion (Coming Soon)
Next, nCino plans to scale its education offering beyond its existing ecosystem to reach prospective customers, consultants, and independent learners. With tiered pricing and smart segmentation already in place, the team is well-positioned to unlock new revenue streams without reinventing the content stack.
We went from fragmented systems and spreadsheets to a fully integrated learning platform that’s visible in Workday, trackable in Salesforce, and personalized for every user.
