Let’s be honest: most of us didn’t get into learning and development because we love data analysis. We’re educators, enablement pros, and eLearning designers—natural communicators more than statisticians. But when it comes to proving the impact of our work, data is the language leadership understands.

Here’s the good news: with AI, analyzing your education program’s impact no longer requires a degree in data science. In fact, with just a couple of CSV exports and a few smart prompts, you can go from “I think this is working” to “Here’s the proof it’s working”—complete with charts, comparisons, and insights that speak directly to business value.

This post walks you through exactly how to do it.

Step 1: Export Your LMS and CRM Data

To measure the impact of education on business outcomes, you need to combine learning data with customer data. This sounds complex, but it’s actually straightforward.

From your LMS, export a CSV that includes learner-level data like:

  • Learner name, email, and company name or domain
  • Course enrollments
  • Course completions
  • Training session attendance

From your CRM, export a CSV with customer-level data such as:

  • Company name and domain
  • Contract value
  • Renewal dates
  • Churn status
  • Product usage or adoption metrics
  • NPS score
  • Support ticket volume

These two files will be the foundation for your AI-powered analysis. The common link? The company domain.

Pro Tip: Intellum’s native reporting makes it easy to get the learning activity data you need for this step.

Step 2: Ask ChatGPT to Analyze the Data

Now the magic begins.

Upload both CSVs into ChatGPT (or your AI tool of choice), and use this prompt from Neel Balar, co-founder of Clueso, to kick off your analysis:

"Here are the two CSV exports I got from our CRM and LMS. Can you run an analysis amongst the trained customers and give me some charts to show the distribution of NPS, product adoption, and number of support queries by the average number of training modules completed by employees at that company? The common column in both sheets is the company domain."

This prompt helps you uncover how learning engagement correlates with key success metrics. Want to make your charts even clearer? Follow up with:

"Can you draw a line of best fit on these charts to show the trend more clearly?"

The AI will not only produce the visuals—it’ll also help you interpret what they mean.

Step 3: Compare Trained vs. Untrained Customers

Want to get straight to impact? Ask ChatGPT to break down the differences between trained and untrained customers:

"Can you compare the trained customers (who have gone through at least one module) with the untrained customers (whose employees have not gone through any module)? I want to see a chart showing the churn rates of trained vs. untrained customers."

This type of analysis can surface powerful patterns. Maybe trained customers renew more, use your product more deeply, or require less support. Whatever the insights are, you now have data-backed proof to bring to your next leadership meeting.

Step 4: Ask Follow-Up Questions to Dig Deeper

The beauty of using AI is that you don’t need to know every question in advance. You can continue the conversation naturally. For example:

  • “Can you show average NPS for customers that completed 0, 1–5, and 6+ modules?”
  • “How does training activity relate to average support ticket volume per customer?”
  • “What’s the revenue retention rate by training engagement tier?”

These iterative queries allow you to explore your data like an analyst, without needing to write SQL or open Excel pivot tables.

Connect the Dots to Business Impact

Education programs aren’t a nice-to-have, —they’re a lever for growth. But if you can’t prove that value, your program is vulnerable to budget cuts and deprioritization.

By using AI to analyze real business impact—on churn, adoption, support, and more—you can shift the conversation from “outputs” to “outcomes.” And you don’t need a dedicated analyst to do it.

This approach gives you a repeatable, scalable way to:

  • Validate your strategy
  • Demonstrate ROI
  • Advocate for continued investment

All with tools you already have access to.

Ready to Prove Your Impact?

In an AI-powered world, anyone can be data-driven. You don’t need to be an expert in analytics to start measuring impact, you just need to start asking better questions and let AI do the heavy lifting.

So go ahead. Download your files, write a prompt, and let AI uncover the value your education program is already driving.
