Intellum Data Connector for BI tools and warehouses
Put the full Intellum dataset next to revenue, pipeline and performance data in the BI tools your team already uses.
Show program impact in the numbers leadership already trusts
Learning and engagement evidence from Intellum lands in the same warehouse as your business records. Analysts compare like with like: the same accounts, the same teams, the same period.
Common uses of the Intellum Data Connector
- Make the case in leadership’s numbers Put completions and certifications beside the renewal, pipeline and performance figures leadership already tracks.
- See which content holds attention Session time, page views and scroll depth, which in-app reports don’t show, reveal where learners stay and where they leave.
- Retire the hand-built report Dashboards read the hourly dataset, so no one exports and rebuilds the same report each month.
- Model learning like any other business data Data engineers join Intellum tables to CRM, product and HR data in the warehouse they already govern.
BI and ETL tools that read the Intellum Data Connector
Every tool below works from the same hourly dataset. Databricks is the one tool that connects through your own service account.
Looker
BI and modeling
Model the dataset and build dashboards in Looker with the key Intellum issues.
Data Studio
Reports
Build reports in Google’s Data Studio, formerly Looker Studio, with the same key.
Tableau
Dashboards
Build Tableau dashboards on the hourly dataset with the same key.
Power BI
BI and reports
Build Power BI reports through its Google BigQuery connector with the same key.
Databricks
Lakehouse
Connects through a service account in your own Google Cloud project, and query and materialization costs bill to that project. Reading views takes an extra step.
Airbyte
ETL
Moves the dataset into your own warehouse.
Snowflake
Warehouse
Load the hourly dataset into Snowflake with an ETL tool like Airbyte, next to the rest of your business data.
BigQuery
Any other tool
Any other tool that supports BigQuery connections can query the dataset with the key Intellum issues.
How the Intellum Data Connector works
An unrestricted admin turns on the Data Connector in Settings › Apps and downloads the key Intellum issues.
Your BI or ETL tool uses that key to run custom SQL against the dataset, which BigQuery exposes as views and refreshes every hour. Looker, Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI and any tool that supports BigQuery connections can read it, and ETL tools like Airbyte can move it into your own warehouse, such as Snowflake.
How to set up the Intellum Data Connector
Intellum provides the dataset and its documentation. Your data team connects its BI or ETL tools and builds on the data.
- The Data Connector, a paid add-on
- An Intellum admin with unrestricted rights
- A BI or ETL tool that supports BigQuery connections
- For Databricks, a service account in your own Google Cloud project
How the Intellum Data Connector handles access and data
- Separation: one customer can never see another customer’s data.
- Personal data: the dataset includes personal data about learners, so plan a security review of the access model.
- Data that moves: one way, out of Intellum, refreshed every hour.
- Data dictionary: only unrestricted admins can see the reference to every table and field.
