Payment gateways for Intellum E-commerce
Program owners selling courses in Intellum take payment through PayPal, CyberSource, XVoucher or Apple Pay, as well as Stripe. Each is a payment gateway option in Intellum’s native E-commerce.
Common uses of payment gateways
- Program owners sell courses, paths, certifications, events and subscriptions through the payment gateway their organization prefers.
- Admins see every purchase in Intellum and send purchase events to other systems through PubSub.
How payment gateways work
Intellum E-commerce lets you price individual activities, paths, certifications or events, or offer subscriptions. The connected gateway processes the learner’s payment, and Intellum records the purchase, including the item, the buyer and any purchase code.
Purchase records are available through the Intellum API, and PubSub can stream purchase events with payment card details excluded.
How to set up payment gateways
An admin connects the gateway in Intellum E-commerce with your organization’s own credentials, then sets prices on the items you sell.
- An account with PayPal, CyberSource, XVoucher or Apple Pay
- For Apple Pay, your organization’s domain verification certificate
- Prices set on the activities, paths, certifications or events you sell
How Intellum handles access and data with PayPal, CyberSource, XVoucher and Apple Pay
- Payments: the gateway processes each payment.
- Credentials: each gateway connects with your organization’s own credentials. Apple Pay also uses your domain verification certificate.
- Purchase records: Intellum keeps the item, the buyer and any purchase code.
- Card data: payment card details are excluded from every PubSub message.
What to know about payment gateways
- Admins can enroll people in paid activities without payment through the Bypass Payment option in enrollment imports.
