Amazon sign-in integration
Customers, partners and other external learners sign in to Intellum with their Amazon account. Amazon passes the person’s email to Intellum, and Intellum uses it to identify them.
Common uses of Amazon sign-in
- Customers sign in to a public or customer academy with an Amazon account they already have, with one less password to create.
- Partners and other external learners reach training without an account in your company’s identity provider.
How Amazon sign-in works
Amazon sign-in uses social OAuth. A person signs in with their Amazon account, and Amazon passes their email to Intellum. Intellum uses that email as the identifier for the person’s account.
How to set up Amazon sign-in
Intellum sets up Amazon sign-in for your site as a custom sign-in option.
- An Amazon account for each person who signs in this way
- An email on that account, which identifies the person in Intellum
How Amazon sign-in for Intellum handles access and data
- Authentication: social OAuth with Amazon.
- Data: the person’s email passes from Amazon to Intellum and identifies the person.
- Accounts: admins remove accounts through the API or a recurring user file.
What to know about Amazon sign-in
- Social sign-in is built for external audiences. For employees, connect your identity provider through SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
