Workato integration for learning workflows
Teams automate work between Intellum and other apps without custom code, through a prebuilt Intellum connector that turns the API into Workato triggers and actions. Your organization builds recipes in its own Workato account, or Intellum builds them.
Common uses of the Workato integration
- HR operations leads provision new hires from Workday and assign onboarding automatically.
- Sales operations managers create Intellum users from Salesforce and push completions back.
- Support leads open a Jira ticket automatically when a training event happens.
- Marketing ops managers start Marketo or Mailchimp campaigns when a learner earns a certification.
How the Workato integration works
Intellum’s custom connector is built on the OpenAPI definition of the v3 API, so Workato sees Intellum triggers and actions. Recipes move data in either direction, on a schedule or as events happen.
Workato connections and recipes show at the bottom of Settings › Apps with a live connection status that flags errors. A details form holds each connection’s credentials.
How to set up the Workato integration
Your organization builds and deploys recipes in its own Workato account, or Intellum Professional Services scopes and builds them.
- A Workato account or a Professional Services engagement
- Intellum API access
Workato lists the Intellum Platform connector in its App Directory.
How the Intellum and Workato integration handles access and data
- Authentication: recipes authenticate to Intellum and to each connected app with their own credentials.
- Personal data: recipes can move anything the v3 API exposes, including learner personal data, so review each recipe’s mappings.
- Monitoring: each connection shows a live status in Settings › Apps, so admins can spot errors.
What to know about the Workato integration
- Workato can add usage-based costs.
- Builds run by your organization and builds by Intellum Professional Services are separate commercial options.
