Safe Exam Browser integration
Exam owners require learners to take an assessment or join a live session inside Safe Exam Browser, a lockdown browser on the learner’s device. Admins turn it on per assessment as an alternative to Honorlock.
Common uses of the Safe Exam Browser integration
- Exam owners require Safe Exam Browser so learners take a high-stakes assessment in a locked-down environment.
- Admins run proctored live training by launching GoTo Training sessions through Safe Exam Browser.
- Admins choose Off, Honorlock or Safe Exam Browser for each assessment from one Proctoring Type setting.
How the Safe Exam Browser integration works
An admin sets the assessment’s Proctoring Type to Safe Exam Browser. For a course session, the admin also checks Require students to use Safe Exam Browser. Learners then open the assessment or session in Safe Exam Browser, which restricts their environment for the length of the session.
When a GoTo Training session launches through Safe Exam Browser, the launch registers the learner and can open the GoTo Training desktop app.
How to set up the Safe Exam Browser integration
An admin sets the Proctoring Type on the assessment and checks the session requirement. Learners install Safe Exam Browser before the exam.
- Safe Exam Browser installed on each learner’s device
- A GoTo Training connection for proctored live sessions
