GoTo Meeting, GoTo Training and GoTo Webinar integrations

Admins and instructors create GoTo Meeting, GoTo Training and GoTo Webinar sessions from an Intellum course session. Only GoTo Webinar returns attendance as progress. Each person connects their own GoTo account.

Common uses of the GoTo integrations

  • Admins attach a scheduled GoTo meeting room to a course session when attendance doesn’t drive completion.
  • Admins host live GoTo Training sessions with personal join links, including proctored sessions with Safe Exam Browser.
  • L&D leaders use GoTo Webinar when attendance must drive completion, with instructors as co-organizers.

How the GoTo integrations work

GoTo Meeting: saving a course session creates the meeting, and renames, reschedules and deletion sync. Every enrolled learner uses the same join link. GoTo Training: saving creates the training. Learners register with GoTo when they click to join and get personal join URLs.

GoTo Webinar: saving creates the webinar, registers enrolled learners with their own join links and adds instructors as co-organizers. About 20 minutes after it ends, Intellum pulls attendance and sets progress from attended time.

How to set up the GoTo integrations

Each admin or instructor connects their own GoTo account from their user settings. They then pick GoTo Meeting, GoTo Training or GoTo Webinar as the course session’s location type. For GoTo Webinar, the course session names the hosting account.

  • GoTo account with access to the GoTo product you use
  • One active GoTo Training connection per person

How the Intellum and GoTo integrations handle access and data

  • Authentication: GoTo OAuth per person. Each connection belongs to the person who authorized it, and sessions are created in that person’s GoTo account.
  • Data that moves: GoTo Meeting gets session details only. GoTo Training also gets each learner’s registration at join. GoTo Webinar gets registrants and returns attendance.
  • Personal data: GoTo Webinar attendance identifies the learner and lands in the learner’s Intellum record.
  • Shared links: the GoTo Meeting join link works for anyone who has it.
  • Notifications: GoTo Webinar’s own confirmation, reminder and follow-up emails are turned off, so Intellum notifications cover reminders.

What to know about the GoTo integrations

  • GoTo Meeting and GoTo Training return no attendance. Switching to GoTo Webinar later means recreating sessions.
  • Renaming a session after saving doesn’t rename the training in GoTo Training.
  • A webinar cancelled directly in GoTo leaves learners with dead links.

Questions about the GoTo integrations

Which GoTo products return attendance to Intellum?

Only GoTo Webinar. Intellum pulls its attendance about 20 minutes after the webinar ends, retries hourly for up to 24 hours and sets progress from attended time divided by scheduled duration. GoTo Meeting and GoTo Training send nothing back.

Yes. Saving a course session creates the training, and learners register with GoTo when they click to join, each with a personal join link. GoTo Training also works with Safe Exam Browser for proctored live sessions.

Yes. Saving the course session creates the webinar and registers enrolled learners with their own join links. Learners who enroll later are registered, and dropped or transferred learners are unregistered.

The account of the person who connected it. Each GoTo connection belongs to the admin or instructor who authorized it, and sessions are created in that person’s GoTo account. Each GoTo Webinar course session names its hosting account.
