Adobe Connect integration for virtual classrooms

Admins link an existing Adobe Connect meeting to an Intellum course session, and Intellum keeps the meeting roster in step with enrollment. Attendance does not return to Intellum. Each instructor connects their own Adobe Connect account.

Common uses of the Adobe Connect integration

  • Admins stop adding and removing Adobe Connect participants by hand as enrollment changes.
  • Instructors are added as hosts and learners as participants for each upcoming meeting.

How the Adobe Connect integration works

Each instructor stores their own Adobe Connect domain, username and password in their Intellum user settings. An admin sets the course session’s location type to AdobeConnect Meeting and enters the meeting URL. The meeting must already exist in Adobe Connect.

When an enrollment is created, updated or dropped, a sync job finds the person in Adobe Connect by email and adds or removes them. Instructors join as Hosts and learners as Participants. Only upcoming meetings sync.

How to set up the Adobe Connect integration

Each instructor connects individually, and admins link meetings on each course session. Intellum allow-lists custom or white-labeled Adobe Connect domains before use.

  • Active Adobe Connect account and server
  • Every instructor and learner already exists in Adobe Connect
  • Emails match exactly between Intellum and Adobe Connect

How the Intellum and Adobe Connect integration handles access and data

  • Authentication: each instructor’s Adobe Connect username and password are stored in Intellum. This integration predates the OAuth-based connections.
  • Data that moves: one-way roster adds and removals for upcoming meetings. Roster entries identify each person by email.
  • Missing users: people who don’t exist in Adobe Connect are skipped silently, so check accounts before a session.
  • Attendance: nothing returns to Intellum. Attendance reporting comes from Adobe Connect.

  • Past meetings don’t sync.

Questions about the Adobe Connect integration

Can Adobe Connect integrate with an LMS?

Yes. Admins link an existing Adobe Connect meeting to an Intellum course session, and enrollment changes then add or remove people on the meeting roster, with instructors as Hosts and learners as Participants.

No. The integration syncs the roster one way, from Intellum to Adobe Connect, for upcoming meetings. Attendance reporting stays in Adobe Connect. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex and GoTo Webinar return attendance to Intellum.

The sync finds each person in Adobe Connect by email. Anyone who doesn’t already exist in Adobe Connect with an exactly matching email is skipped silently, and the integration doesn’t create Adobe Connect accounts.
